Chits & Bits Game Marathon: Supporting the Extra Life Program at BBCH

When I started the Chits & Bits Game Marathon (the first few years it was just the Tabletop Game Marathon), I didn’t really expect many people to want to get involved. Sure, I figured people would come play games and maybe give a little to charity, but the response I got was overwhelmingly positive. People I barely knew wanted to pitch in and give a hand. I was able to put together some prizes and support from a few local businesses.

Here we sit, heading into the 5th annual event. FIVE YEARS! I can’t even wrap my head around it. Five years have brought us so many successes, so many new friends and most of all so much support from our community. Our total this year, has already crossed the $10,000 mark, putting us over $65,000 raised for The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital.

One of the biggest factors in our success is the huge support we’ve gotten from local individuals and businesses. We do a ton of prospecting for prizes and sponsorships, an effort which is spearheaded by Rob, co-founder of Chits & Bits. Through his hard work, we get dozens upon dozens of prizes for our raffle. Many of the companies are donors year after year. We can’t say thank you often or loud enough to them. We hope you’ll take the time to frequent these businesses and say thanks.   – Jamison McLean, co-founder of Chits & Bits
