Generosity of Maine’s Ace Hardware Customers Unlocks National Recognition and Additional Support for The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital
Customers at Falmouth, Oak Hill and Coastal Ace Hardware stores proved to be in the giving spirit this past holiday season. The generosity of Ace Hardware customers in these communities during Ace’s recent Holiday Round Up campaign earned national recognition and unlocked additional funding for The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital (BBCH) in December.
The Holiday Round-Up campaign invites customers to round-up their purchase to the nearest dollar and donate their change to the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. For Falmouth, Oak Hill and Coastal, every customer who chooses to round-up is choosing to support BBCH.
This year, thanks to the added commitment of Ace vendor, Duracell, stores participating in the Round-Up campaign were also competing for additional funds through the Power Up the Miracles initiative. This initiative recognizes the stores who demonstrate the greatest percentage of customers who choose to round-up their purchase. Among the 1,900 participating Ace locations, Falmouth Ace ranked 7th, Oak Hill ranked 20th and Coastal Ace ranked 22nd in the nation. This resulted in an additional $7,000 in donations to BBCH on behalf of each store, on top of the $14,786 donated by customers through the Holiday Round-Up campaign.

Donations to The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital through partners like Ace Hardware enhance the care provided at Maine’s only children’s hospital through the purchase of pediatric medical equipment and by providing financial support for specialized programs, like Child Life.
