Our Community: Celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month!
May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and we wanted to celebrate the month and our Asian Pacific American (APA) community by sharing this short video. #Trailblazers is a short documentary that highlights the perseverance and humility of several APA luminaries, including:
- Connie Chung, the first Asian American to co-anchor a national newscast
- Michael Chang, the youngest male to win a Grand Slam title in tennis
- Peggy and Andrew Cherng, co-founders of the world’s largest Asian restaurant concept: Panda Express
As you know, Panda Express is a national partner of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, including The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. Since 2007, Panda has raised more than $36 million for CMN Hospitals, because as Andrew Cherng explains in the video, “The most important part of our mission statement is really about how we build a better life together.” Peggy adds, “We are not here just to do business. We’re here to be part of that community.”
Please join us in honoring and elevating our APA community, and in celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month this May!
