Aflac Awards BBCH with Grant for Child Life Program
Our friends at Aflac are committed to helping children with cancer.
Every September, Aflac honors National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month by supporting pediatric cancer programs across the country. Among other activities, this year Aflac chose to award $2,500 grants to Child Life programs to provide additional support to children with cancer. We are excited and grateful to announce that our Child Life Program at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital (BBCH) was one of 10 hospitals to receive a grant!
This grant was used to purchase duplicate sets of LEGO kits for our patients and their siblings to build virtually, but together. Due to the current COVID-related precautions within the hospital, siblings are unable to visit BBCH. These LEGO kits will allow patients and their siblings to connect virtually and spend time building the same LEGO kit.
A BIG thanks to Aflac for their generous support. Thank you for your commitment to helping children, and their families, in their fight against cancer. We know our pediatric patients and their siblings will enjoy spending time together building some awesome LEGO creations!
