They Bid High and They Bid Often

A huge thank you to our friends from the Professional Logging Contractors of Maine and its members. On Friday evening, April 26th, PLC of Maine hosted its 24th Annual Dinner and Auction to benefit Maine’s two Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Each year, loggers from across Maine rally around pediatric healthcare and the Log A Load for Kids program, and 2019 was no different. This year’s event raised a record-breaking $51,866 to be split equally among Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center and The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital.

The team here at EMMC is so incredibly grateful for the support and generosity of the logging community and the forest products industry. And, once again, the highlight this year was seeing three very special kids take center stage and join auctioneer, Scott Hanington, in auctioning off items that they personally created, including ten fly fishing ties made by CMN Hospitals’ 2014 State of Maine Champion, Noah, a 13-year old from Brewer. Noah has turned his passion of tying flies into a fundraising initiative to give back to EMMC to buy some comforts and fun distractions for kids who are receiving care there. And in true Maine fashion, his ten flies generated $1,400 toward helping making even more miracles happen for local kids – speechless!
