Small, But Mighty. 14-year old twins celebrate their birthday by giving back to the hospital where they got their start.

“Small, but mighty” is how we like to describe the tiny patients in our neonatal intensive care unit. Twins, Anna and Ella Scarpone, are no longer small, but are definitely still mighty!

Born 10 weeks early on July 27th, 2005, Anna and Ella weighed in at only 2lbs, 12oz. and 1lb, 6oz. After 58 days in The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital NICU, where they grew stronger every day, the girls were healthy enough to go home.

In July these inspiring young ladies celebrated their 14th birthday with a goal of raising $140 through the My Miracle Birthday program instead of receiving presents. Every dollar stays local to help the kids in our community and will be matched by Saco and Biddeford Savings Institution and P&C Insurance.
