Kids Helping Kids: Jake’s Miracle Birthday!

There is nothing more inspiring and heartwarming than meeting kids in our community who want to help other kids.

So meet Jake! Today, March 30th, is Jake’s 11th birthday.

Rather than marking the occasion with a request for presents for himself, he has asked his friends and family to make a donation to The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital (BBCH) in honor of his big day. Using the My Miracle Birthday website, Jake was able to offer an online donation option to those willing to support his efforts, as well as collecting cash and checks at his birthday party last weekend! Jake has raised $500 in support of the kids at BBCH!

When Jake was asked why this was his birthday wish this year, here is what he had to say:

“I decided to ask for donations for The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in lieu of gifts for my birthday because I care about children in need.  I thought donating money would help them out with their situation.  I am very lucky that I don’t have any serious illnesses or have needed to stay at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital.  Some children are in the unfortunate situation of needing to be at the hospital and I really wanted to help them and their families out and make their stay better.”

How lucky are we as a community to have kids like Jake as our neighbors?

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JAKE!
