Healthy & Happy: Callan Celebrates His 1st Miracle Birthday

For parents who are expecting, the days and weeks leading up to a baby’s due date are full of excitement, anticipation and final preparations. ?

For Kelsey and Michael Walker, an ultrasound the day before Kelsey’s due date filled them with concern. The ultrasound revealed malrotation in the intestine of their unborn baby, Callan.

Callan was born on October 27th, 2018 and underwent his first surgery at only one day old. After two weeks in the NICU, Callan was well enough to head home to Searsport with his family. Within a week, Callan began throwing up after every feeding and soon found himself back at BBCH for an endoscopy. Doctor’s discovered another intestinal abnormality that would require a 2nd surgery and 18 days in the hospital. Callan was only two months old.

Fast-forward 10 months and this handsome little guy will be celebrating his first birthday later this week! ? In celebration of his big day, Callan and his family are using the My Miracle Birthday program to give back to BBCH, the place that ensured a healthy start for them. ❤️ Join us in wishing Callan a very happy 1st birthday!
