Celebrating 2019’s Miracle Birthdays

We are excited to announce our 2019 My Miracle Birthday fundraising total!  Last year, through the My Miracle Birthday (MMB) program, over 30 community members chose to support The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital (BBCH) by raising money in honor of their birthday. Additionally, for every dollar raised our friends at Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution and P&C Insurance provided a matching gift to support each birthday honoree and BBCH. Our 2019 MMB grand total was… $17,614.99!

Thank you to all the MMB participants who raised money for our local children’s hospital. We are so grateful for your support and selfless contributions. We also want to thank our Premier Sponsor, Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution, and P&C Insurance for their generous matching gift and continued support of BBCH.

MMB is a fundraising initiative that encourages community members to celebrate their birthday by asking friends and family for donations that will support BBCH, in lieu of gifts.  Many of our 2019 participants were former patients at BBCH, who generously decided to give up the possibility of new toys and electronics for their birthday and instead support the hospital they once were treated at.

Each donation made through the MMB program will continue to strengthen the care provided at Maine’s only children’s hospital. The nearly $18,000 raised in 2019 will aid in the purchase of pediatric medical equipment and support ongoing specialized programs within the hospital.
